Recently, scientists from Japan and Canada have discovered a new species of a tiny dinosaur in Japan. According to experts, this tiny dinosaur was related to the triceratops and was smaller than an average dog! This tiny dinosaur measured around 3 feet in length and weighed around 10kg.
This new species has been named Sasayamagnomus saegusai and it belonged to a group of plant-eating dinosaurs called ceratopsians. The species thrived in the Northern Hemisphere from the late Jurassic period through to the Cretaceous period. Scientists say the discovery is the furthest east that a ceratopsian dinosaur has been found.
