Preeti Pal Creates History 

First Indian Woman to Win Two Para-Athletics Medals 

Preethi Pal has become the first Indian to win two Paralympic medals in a track event. Preethi Pal won a bronze medal in the women’s T35 100m event with a personal best time of 14.21 seconds. Apart from it being the country’s first track medal ever at the Games, Preethi Pal’s bronze is also India’s first medal from para-athletics at Paris 2024. She also won a bronze in the women’s 200 T35 class.She clocked a personal best timing of 30.01s in the final to take the third position.

What is the T35 category?

T35 classification is meant for athletes who have coordination impairments such as hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis, as well as cerebral palsy.

Sheetal Devi And Rakesh Kumar Wins Bronze Medal 

India’s Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar clinched the bronze medal in the mixed compound open archery event at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Sheetal Dev, at 17, became India’s youngest Paralympic medallist in history. She was the only female armless archer at Paris 2024.
