It’s Official! Donald Trump is the US President

Donald Trump has become the 47th President of the United States of America. On January 20, in a special event called an inauguration, President Trump took over from Joe Biden. Many former U.S. presidents, including Barack Obama, attended the ceremony. Because of the freezing temperatures, it was held inside the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., for the first time in 40 years. In his first speech after taking the oath, President Trump promised to make America “greater, stronger, and more exceptional than ever before”. This is Donald Trump’s second time as President, having served before Joe Biden from 2017 to 2021. JD Vance was sworn in as Vice President.

Donald Trump’s First Actions As President:

One of President Trump’s first actions was to use an executive order to withdraw the US from the Paris Climate Agreement. This is an international deal to address climate change. He had previously withdrawn from the agreement in 2017, and President Joe Biden re-joined it in 2021.

President Trump also signed an executive order to start the process of withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization (“WHO”). He was not happy with how the WHO handled the COVID-19 pandemic and had begun this process during his first term. President Biden later reversed that decision, but now it is reported that the U.S. will officially leave the WHO in January 2026.
