The final belonged to 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a breathtaking 175 off 80 balls, including 15 fours and 15 sixes. His knock set the record for the highest individual score in an Under-19 World Cup final. He also brought up his century in just 55 balls, becoming the second-fastest centurion in the tournament’s history.
Captain Ayush Mhatre supported the charge with a quick 53, and the pair helped India race past key milestones early in the innings. India eventually piled up a towering 411/9 in 50 overs, one of the most imposing totals ever seen in a U-19 World Cup final.
England fought back with Caleb Falconer’s 115 off 67 balls, but the steep target proved too much. The team were bowled out for 311, sealing India’s emphatic victory and marking the largest win margin in runs in a U-19 World Cup final.
