Record Break: LeBron James Becomes NBA’s Most Durable Player

In professional sports, staying at the top for many years is one of the toughest challenges. Injuries, fatigue and intense competition often shorten athletes’ careers. Yet a few legends manage to perform season after season. In the National Basketball Association, one of the greatest examples of longevity has just reached another historic milestone. Basketball superstar LeBron James has become the most durable player in NBA history, setting a new record for the most regular-season games played in the league. Playing as a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2025–26 NBA season, he appeared in his 1,612th regular-season game, breaking a record that had stood for almost 30 years in the National Basketball Association.

The previous record of 1,611 games was held by Robert Parish, who played for the Boston Celtics during his long career in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Over an extraordinary 23-season career, LeBron James has built one of the most remarkable records in basketball. He has won four NBA Championships, earned multiple Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards, and also became the highest points scorer in NBA history in 2023. The new durability record highlights not only his talent but also his ability to stay competitive and fit across more than two decades in the league.
