- KL Rahul stayed unbeaten on 34, guiding India safely across the finish line. India’s bowlers, especially the spinners, also played a key role by keeping New Zealand’s scoring in check.

- Rachin Ravindra was named Player of the Tournament for the Champions Trophy 2025.
- This victory made India the first team to win the Champions Trophy three times, after earlier triumphs in 2002 (shared with Sri Lanka) and 2013 (against England).
- India were unbeaten throughout the tournament, winning group matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand, before defeating Australia in the semi-final.
- It was also a special night for experience and longevity. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma played their ninth ICC event final, surpassing Yuvraj Singh’s record of eight final appearances.
