He had been on a holiday in France and decided to enter his name for the Games. Norman Pritchard ran in five athletics events in Paris. Introducing The First Female Racer To Win At Rotax Challenge International Trophy.
Atiqa Mir, the nine-year-old racing sensation created history at the famous and prestigious Le Mans Kart International circuit (in France), by becoming the first female racer in the world to win a race in the Rotax Challenge International Trophy. She achieved this by winning Race 2 in the MicroMax Category Heats.
Atiqa Mir was driving for Dan Holland Racing Team in the Lando Norris kart. She competed against 36 drivers in the MicroMax category, with 318 drivers from 40 nations participating across all categories. Thanks to this win Atiqa Mir has joined an elite list of drivers like George Russell, Lando Norris, and the current F1 champion Max Verstappen, who have previously won in the Maxseries en route to their careers in Formula 1.
Dhinidhi Desinghu, aged 14, was the youngest Indian to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In fact, she is the second youngest Indian to compete in the history of the Olympics after fellow swimmer Aarti Saha, who participated in the 1952 Olympics as an 11-year-old.
Dhinidhi Desinghu is from Bangalore and has competed in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou and won seven gold medals at the 2023 Indian National Games, setting a personal best in the 100m freestyle. Earlier this year, she competed in the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha in the 200m freestyle and the mixed medley relay. At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Dhinidhi Desinghu swam the women’s 200m freestyle, finishing the first heat with a time of 2:06.96. She placed 23rd overall among 31 competitors.
Sixteen year old Jiya Rai with Autism Spectrum Disorder has become the youngest para swimmer to cross the English Channel. Also, the Mumbai girl is the fastest para swimmer in the world to cross the English Channel. She created this record by swimming through the English Channel from the Abbot’s Cliff in England to Pointe de la Courte-Dune in France in a record time of 17 hours and 25 minutes from July 28 to 29. She covered a distance of 34km! Jiya is a girl with a mission and wants to become the world’s first and youngest para swimmer to swim seven oceans.
It is reported that Jiya is also the world’s youngest and fastest female swimmer to swim across the Palk Strait. She created this record on March 20, 2022 by swimming 29km within 13 hours and 10 minutes. She has also won medals in the national and state open-water sea swimming championships.
